Robert J. Keyes, a senior officer in the Securities and Exchange Commission's New York regional office who was credited by the agency with forging stronger links between its examination and enforcement teams, will retire at the end of August, the SEC said on Tuesday. Keyes is retiring after 22 years of federal service, including the past 18 at the SEC, the agency said. Since being named associate regional director and chief of regional office operations in 2010, Keyes has advised on operational management issues including budgeting, collections and distributions, and handling tips, complaints and referrals. He has helped increase the office's effectiveness in enforcement and examinations while establishing a deeper collaboration between the two units, the SEC said.
