The home and host regulators of an internationally active bank should continuously collaborate and share information, not only when they meet physically and formally as the bank’s supervisory college. This was one of the proposals to update and improve the 2010 good practice principles on supervisory colleges, on which the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision launched an 8-week consultation on January 23. Other proposed amendments aim to: Highlight the need to strike a balance between core college effectiveness and host involvement. Make home and host supervisors put in place appropriate mechanisms and sufficient resources for effective and timely information exchange. Encourage home and host supervisors to agree on the types of feedback they provide to banks and feedback is consistent. Differentiate between systemically important banks with crisis management groups, and non-systemic banks without CMGs, tailoring guidance accordingly. The revised Principle 1 on ‘College
