Two UK brokers charged in Libor probe

Two former brokers at RP Martin Holdings Limited, have been charged with offences of conspiracy to defraud in connection with the investigation by the Serious Fraud Office into the manipulation of the London Interbank Offered Rate. Terry John Farr, 41, and James Andrew Gilmour, 48, of Essex, were arrested on December 11 last year, along with former UBS and Citigroup trader Tom Hayes by officers from the SFO and City of London Police. They attended Bishopsgate police station and were charged with counts of conspiracy to defraud. They will appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court at a later date. Hayes, 33, from Caterham in Surrey, faces eight counts of conspiracy to defraud the market, under common law, while working at both UBS and Citigroup on various dates between August 2006 and September 2010.
